HP Laser Jet 4000 Series Installs Continued...
HP Internet Printer Connection box. Delete the default IP Address and Printer Name
(if you keep defaults, Users will have IP-labeled Printer Icons in their Printers Folder).
Use 'ping -a' command, to verify the IP address of your printer name (i.e 'ping -a daffy'),
or check the configurations directly from the printer itself. Then fill in needed information. Don't Share Printer.
No Proxy Settings to worry about. Next.
Review. Select Print IPC Test Page. Next.
Locate Manufacturer/Printers. Make sure you are not installing LJ 4000 drivers for 4050 Laser Jets (and vice versa).
Finish.
If same driver is already installed, Installing new driver is not needed. Next.
Now check to see if test page printed correctly.
