SQL Server 2008 Community Technology Preview (CTP)
Microsoft's latest SQL Server offering is almost official. I downloaded a beta version of SQL Server 2008 (ok, CTP) from Microsoft's site:
The idea was to install it on a freshly installed Windows 2008 Server (Longhorn). I just finished setting up the server on an AMD 64 bit based system.
The SQL Server version I used is: Microsoft SQL Server 2008 CTP, February 2008. Upon starting the install, I noticed that the latest .NET framework is needed.
First the .NET Framework 3.5 is required to be installed before proceeding.
Once this is taken care of, the installation begins
